The new 500-kilovolt overhead line No. 2 between Nizhneangarskaya and Ust-Kut is part of a large-scale project to increase the capacity and throughput of the Baikal-Amur Mainline Railway. The project aims at ensuring the Railway’s uninterrupted power supply and strengthening the intersystem connections between Irkutsk and Buryatia.
